During the summer of 2001 this was my "local ride," as I was spending considerable time in a condo just south of the trailhead to the Santiago Truck Trail / Old Camp / Luge Trail. With the exception of the Luge Trail downhill, this route is virtually all double-track or very wide singletrack. While the standard Santiago > Luge Trail is great for short loops, the extended trip up to Old Camp, even with it's sub-singletrack rating,  turns this route into an epic adventure which sees very little activity compared to the trails at lower elevations.  Challenging climbs on rugged fire roads, with even more challenging singletrack parallels,  make this a challenge for riders of any level every time.
