Wildlife Encounters Along Southern California's
Greatest Mountain Biking Trails
One of the great things about touring California's wilderness areas on a mountain bike is the frequency with which one encounters wildlife.  Quiet bikers who keep at least some of their sensory organs tuned to the surroundings outside the immediate trail in front of them can see some amazing creatures.  Deer, coyotes, snakes, lizards, hawks, wildcats, and many other critters abound in areas which are close to huge human populations.

I've collected a few of the many photos I've taken of creatures spotted from some of the trails covered in this website (along with a few photos from trails not detailed in this site, but which were just too cool to omit).  Enjoy!
